Why “AI Agents Running Businesses Alone” Is Clickbait – My Real Setup with Hybrid AI

“I made $3M ARR in 6 months using AI agents.” – Seen these posts too? Let’s call them what they are: Clickbait.

There’s no denying that AI is already powerful. And Agentic AI will only become more accurate and capable.

But in my experience so far, there’s always a human-in-the-loop (HITL).

No “AI agent” is running an entire company on autopilot. No “tool” is going to replace people steering the machines. Not yet.

If anything, it’s the opposite. I’ve seen the best results come when humans team up with AI. Not to automate their jobs away, but to amplify + scale what they already do best.

Think of “dedicated hybrid agents” – people with deep knowledge of AI who know how to use it as a force multiplier. A new class of workforce.

That’s exactly how I run Pivotal.

Over the last 6 months, I’ve assembled my own team of “virtual” co-pilots.

Each has a defined role. And a name. Because if you’re going to work with virtual assistants daily, you might as well give them personalities.

Meet the crew:

  1. PINA: My virtual marketing and sales assistant. She ghostwrites on LinkedIn, manages comments, and keeps the engagement flowing. Backed by her background in storytelling, she’s trained on Scripe.io to strategize posts.
  2. PIXEL: My graphics guy. He’s a seasoned designer who relies on AI tools like Canva to create visuals faster — but it’s his eye for design that makes the difference.
  3. P.IO: My virtual software dev. Actually, it’s a full-stack engineer backed by his AI-powered crew: Cursor, Copilot, and Replit Ghostwriter.

Coming to me:

  • I don’t type emails anymore. I speak into Gemini and let it draft.
  • I build market maps + business plans using Manus.im.
  • I turn to Perplexity Pro when I’m thinking through different standpoints or persona requirements or when I need a creative jolt.

Since the start of this year, I begin every week by asking myself one thing:

“What can I hand off to PINA, PIXEL, P.IO or other AI tools I signed up for?”

The point isn’t to automate everything. It’s to stop being the bottleneck, so I can focus where it counts.

How are you thinking about this? What does your current human + AI setup look like? Drop me a real DM or comment — preferably on your own. Not via your bot.
